Take photos of your room, and close-ups of any furniture you will be keeping. Then sketch a floor plan of the room. Please refer to the "How To's" in the ASK section of our website for exact instructions on how to take photos and measurements as well as how to sketch a floor plan. As you complete your Personal Design Assessment, you will be asked some technical questions about room, window, ceiling height, and existing furniture sizes and you will need to keep the measurements handy. At the end of the Assessment, you'll attach any photos, the sketch of the floor plan, and if you feel it is necessary, any pictures of a look you may have in mind (from a magazine or website, for instance). You can also send us your photos via regular mail.
Choose the design package that most suits your design needs and click the corresponding "Buy Now" button. This will take you to a page that confirms the design package that you are about to purchase. Clicking "Continue" brings you to our Personal Design Assessment web-form.
The Personal Design Assessment is an extremely important part of our process. We ask questions that will allow us to define your room's function and get to know your personal style and tastes better. You can print out a copy of the Design Assessment and review it so that you will be ready to accurately answer the questions on line.
The Personal Design Assessment will take about 10 minutes to complete. When you are finished answering the questions, you will also be asked to upload photos and a floor plan of your room. Any file type is accepted, but please make sure that each picture is less than 300KB in size. When you have completed the form and uploaded you photos, click the "Buy Now" button again, and you will be directed to Pay Pal's secure site where you will pay for the service. You don't have to have a PayPal account to use this service. PayPal accepts: Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Once your payment has been accepted, your Personal Design Assessment form and photos will be submitted to us. We will then contact you to confirm that we have all the materials necessary to create your space.
Within three to four weeks of receiving all the information, we will send you your Personal Design Guide. This will include the visual presentation of how the finish samples in the Design Package you purchased (paint colors, fabrics, wood tones, floor plan, furniture, lighting, window treatment, and flooring suggestions) will work together. Plus it will also include a written analysis to help you understand the overall design scheme. You'll even be able to purchase many of our recommendations just by clicking through to our valued vendors on the Resource Page on our site.
If you are unable to locate a fabric similar to the sample we sent you, and you wish to purchase the exact fabric we sent, we will be happy to help you with that. Just contact us for pricing and how to order. You'll be able to order exclusive designer line fabrics at almost designer prices!
It is important that you understand that your Personalized Design Guide is meant as a general roadmap to follow as you make the final decisions about the design of your room. You do the shopping and install, but we provide you with the plan to make everything come together. When you receive our completed design, you'll just follow our simple suggestions to implement the plan. You'll decide on your ultimate timetable and purchases based on your own individual budget.
